The system, which includes five surround speakers (one for the center channel), is distinguished by its thin profile, with a depth that measures a mere 1.26 inches per speaker. The 250-watt active subwoofer is built along the same lines, with a rectangular housing that's quite a bit thicker than the speakers but still maintains the same angular profile and sleek lines.The front and rear speakers each sport a single 4-inch mica-reinforced cone woofer that offers strong mid bass frequencies, along with a 0.75-inch tweeter that delivers crisp, graceful highs. The center channel speaker, meanwhile, includes a pair of 3.25-inch woofers in addition to its 0.75-inch tweeter, ensuring that a movie's dialogue sounds rich and clear. The tweeters are also specially designed to extend the frequencies up to 70 kHz, making them capable of reproducing the latest high-resolution audio formats. Finally, the sub's pair of 6-inch woofers drops the other end of the sound to the 26 Hz range--low enough to rattle the floorboards while watching a Hollywood blockbuster or listening to a funk explosion.
